Opportunities
for the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Volunteer
Special Olympics is a sports organization, and it
offers many opportunities and roles for volunteers. For example,
employees of a company can work as a team of volunteers with a local
Special Olympics program.
According to Points of Light Foundation, "Corporate
volunteer programs advance strategic business goals, and, according to
executives, significantly increase their company's overall
competitiveness in the global marketplace.
Successful employee volunteer programs also motivate
and provide training/skill building for their employees." Students who
wish to complete community service hours can do so with Special
Olympics.
Community volunteers interested in providing support
and making a commitment to assist a Special Olympics program can do so
in a variety of events. It becomes a valuable team-building experience
for everyone and a meaningful hands-on experience for the individual.
Both are reflected in the vision of many companies and of individuals
as they continue to promote good corporate citizenship.
