The talents developed in Special Olympics sports training and competition are not confined to the physical skills of the athletes. They are reflected in the blossoming of the heart, mind, and spirit of every person involved.

Special Olympics Centre County draws together more than 300 athletes, coaches, unified partners, family members, and volunteers into a community that enhances social interactions, builds teamwork, and provides opportunities for people with intellectual disabilites to experience success.

All training and competition opportunities are provided free of charge to athletes and their families. SOCC enables everyone to experience the benefits of Special Olympics and allows them to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
