We had a shorter than usual season, but it was packed
with big things. First, our team is big; we have 19 regularly active swimmers!
We also attended FOUR swim meets (three in four weeks - yikes) with each athlete
attending at least two. Notable 2011 accomplishments in the pool:
- Kenny Baney - Attended 3 swim meets and did fantastic
in every one
- Jamie Bérubé - Worked on his breaststroke and a
little butterfly
- Trevor Chester - Learned breaststroke for the first
time this year
- Curtis Clouser - Advanced to the lap events with good
freestyle and backstroke
- Jason Ertwine - Learned breaststroke and an all
around helpful guy
- John Ferguson - Always happy to be at practice, one
of our hardest workers
- Ashley Harter - New this year, all smiles and ready
to learn
- Grace Keen - Grace is like the Energizer Bunny, she
keeps going and going and going...
- Paul Kleit - Learning breaststroke, always
enthusiastic in the pool
- Alan Kunig - Swam a 100 meter freestyle after
deciding that backstroke wasn't for him
- Reuben Lucas - Always willing to help the other
swimmers
- Chris Marshall - On the injured list, but still came
to practices for support
- Doyin Olorunnisola - Her first year and loves the
water
- Kristin Pratt - A veteran swimmer who is a joy to
coach
- Nolan Riddle - His first year and seems to have
gotten used to it all
- Tanya Roberts - Learned and perfected her
breaststroke
- Kara Rohan - Every year she gets better and always
full of smiles during practice
- Emily Thom - Back for her first full season got a lot
of coaching and a lot more confidence.
- Zack Williams - His first year attending PA Summer
Games
Kristin Pratt and Zack Williams represented Centre
County during the 2011 PA Summer Games and did swimmingly!
We lost two fantastic coaches due to graduation - Ilana
Zeises and Meghan Yamasaki. We wish them all the best. They will be missed.
Until next January - keep swimming!
