Aquatics 2008
I didn't really know how to summarize our 2008 season so I asked all of
the swim coaches to tell me what they think were some of their most
memorable moments. I'm glad I did because there were a lot of
things I had already forgotten about. This season:
* Kristin Pratt served as our motivational speaker when she would sing
"just keep swimming" at the top of her lungs during practice
* Kristin was also always happy to offer a joke whenever someone needed
a pick-me-up
* Paul Kleit had his best season yet with a great performance at the
Northumberland/Snyder meet and winning gold medals at his first-ever
Summer Games
* Relay races during practice turned out to be a big hit. There
was a lot of chaos, but in the end, everyone enjoyed them.
* We had a lot of great families to who came to practices and meets for
support and to lend a hand.
* Trevor Chester worked all season with his parents and Todd Minor to
overcome his apprehension of doing the backstroke - and
succeeded. Way to go Trevor!
* Alan Kunig became a superstar with his picture and an article in the
Centre Daily Times.
* Thanks to Alan's parents for throwing us an end-of-season pizza party.
* During Summer Games we had extra support from David Funk and Ilana
Zeises (who seemed to have access to every golf cart that Penn State
owns)
I believe that athletes and coaches alike had a wonderful season.
Thanks to every single one of you and we'll see you again next season!
