Soccer 2009 Wrap Up
This year’s soccer season has concluded, and although we didn’t play one game, this year was a monumental one for us. We noted that due to the
late start of our practices, we were unable to organize any games, resulting in a decreased number of athletes. We also had a number of weather-related cancellations and conflicts with PSU home games. However, the support and foundation for the program grew by leaps and bounds. We need to recognize our stellar athletes, Chris and Rachel Wolf, Kendall Roth, and Alan Kunig. Chris and Rachel participated in the Fall Festival
individual skills competition at Villanova University in November where they received ribbons for their efforts, after being seeded in two large and tough divisions, against more experienced athletes.I wish to give a special thanks to our coaches and
volunteers: Cindy Wolf, Denise Yorks, and Meghan Yamasaki. Thanks also to the Kunig family for their support and assistance during practices. We also experienced significant support from the Penn State Ladies Soccer Team. They
welcomed us at one of their games and joined us for a fun social following that game. We have plans for them to offer a soccer clinic next year, and we will be inviting teams from across the region to join us.We hope to see all of you next summer! Practices begin next August and we’ll be adding a
weekly game for experiencing the true joy of competing against other teams.
