Almost Time to Play Ball!
The geese have begun their northward migration, the bears are waking
from their hibernation, the trees have begun to bud and the crocuses
are getting ready to break through the soil. On top of all that,
as predictable as the melting snow, I am rambling on about the
beginning of spring. What does this mean? It is time to oil
up your glove, dig out your cleats, and limber up your throwing arm,
because softball season is coming! Our team not only
participates at Summer Games, but we also compete in 1-2 more
tournaments during the summer months.
Our practices are set to begin on Sunday, April 6th. They are
tentatively scheduled to run from 2:30-4:30pm during the cooler spring
months (April-May). During the hot summer months of June and
July, practices will run from 5:30-7:30pm, which will let us practice
during the cooler evening hours.
We will have a change of practice
venue this year: all practices
will be held at Orchard Park
instead of Community Fields.
I am happy to say that I have been able to talk with most of our
veteran players, and have also talked to some new recruits, but there
is always room for more players and volunteers. So why not come
